Review 14th April 2013

Review

Overview

15 shots have either been finalised or drawn out over these two weeks and as long as I keep up this pace, the work will be achievable. Animation will take time but within my schedule I am allowing time for editing and extra animation.

A scene a day keeps the 'time management monster' at bay!

Bellow is a review of my progress and what needs to be improved. It also has any changes to schedule and reasons for those changes.

Progress

Over the two weeks, I have complete mapping out the visuals for the 'isolation' stage and started placing the images onto an edit time line. Within this, I have some visuals such as close ups of the character or the neglected home too add because without them the overall look lacks believability. Each scene takes about half a day to produce and finish while animation takes another half a day to produce.

Through these two weeks I have learnt more about the processes which make up this animation production. Photoshop and After Effect are the main tools for animation. I can also create and export video within Photoshop which allows me to have more control over frame rates, drawing and colour. My workflow will also quicken because the rendering times will be cut down.

Intially, I was worried that I would not be able to complete the project on time, but after creating and animating the first few shots, the process is become more achievable, because I have a set visual list and system which allows me to view the clips as a storyboard to review the overal flow.

Schedule Changes

In terms of my schedule, I am on time and have completed the number of scenes I needed to within the two weeks.

My only concern is juggling this project with the other ongoing projects, proving that producing a scene a day will be challanging, but not out of my reach. The nest port of call is to create the spine of the story in Premier Pro using audio. This will help put the clips in context as I fear that I will alter the story blindly the ruin the overall message.

I have spoken with my tutor and here are notes on our conversation:
